Select the mask and use SHIFT+K on the keyboard to invert this layer Under the General tab in Color Balance tool select Blend Mode Color then click on Adjustment tab, Color Levels: Select layer copy(2)of background, add adjustment layer Color Balance the layer shall be between copy(2)of background and the mask. Now will you have 2 layers and 1 group layer (Name that group to "sky") including copy (2) of background and the mask. The have I made a mask of the selection, I use Show selection. I have select the sky with magic wand the adjust with freehand lasso
I make on more copy of background "Copy (2)of Background" this layer have I use to make a mask so the blend mod have I set to Normal. I make a copy of background with Duplicate change blend mode for the new layer to Overlay I also did a selection on the sky with the magic wand and applied a heavy dose of noise reduction to keep it smooth. The sky is pretty much a gray, and there was not much that I could do for the color, however, the histogram was very flat on the light end and a quick levels adjustment really helped the shot.
